Master the "X-Ray Vision" of trading. Learn how to look inside the candle to see the raw buy/sell order data that institutions leave behind.
Institutional Footprints (often called Footprint Charts) go beyond standard OHLC (Open, High, Low, Close) candles. They break down a single candle to show exactly how much volume was bought (at the Ask price) and how much was sold (at the Bid price) at every single price level within that candle. This allows you to see the actual battle, revealing if institutions are aggressively entering or if they are "absorbing" opposing volume.
It can be overwhelming at first. Start by focusing on "Delta" to see who is currently in control—the buyers or the sellers. Everything else is secondary to identifying which side is aggressively driving price.
You need a specialized order flow charting platform (e.g., Sierra Chart, Bookmap, or specialized indicators on TradingView) to view this data correctly.
